Sergeant Allen L. Kimery

December 6, 1984 Missoula County Sheriff Sergeant Allen L. Kimery was shot and killed by a person he had stopped for leaving a gas station without paying for gasoline.  The shooting occurred between West Broadway and Toole on Burton Street.  It was later determined that the vehicle had been stolen.
